Japanese Ceramic Bowl + Japanese Linen Cloth

A quiet pairing of Japanese ceramic and natural linen, created for the small rituals that shape the day.

The Kon-Ai bowl is defined by a deep indigo-charcoal glaze layered over a warm, finely speckled base. The meeting of dark blue and sandy earth tones gives the bowl a grounded, almost coastal character—subtle from a distance, with more texture revealed up close.

Paired with a Japanese-made natural linen cloth, the set brings together two contrasting materials: cool glazed ceramic and softly woven linen. The neutral flax tone complements the earthy lower half of the bowl while allowing the dark glaze to become the focal point.

Made for More Than Matcha

With its generous depth and comfortable shape, the bowl can move easily between tea and everyday dining. Use it for matcha, tea, coffee, soups, yoghurt, fruit, desserts or small dishes.

The linen cloth can be folded beneath the bowl for tea, opened as a small place setting, or used independently around the home.

Two Materials, One Quiet Ritual

Ceramic and linen are deliberately simple materials, chosen for the way they feel as much as the way they look. Together, they create a small setting for slowing down—whether that’s morning matcha, an afternoon tea or something warm at the end of the day.

Please note: Natural variations in glaze, colour, speckling and finish are part of the character of Japanese ceramics and mean each bowl may differ slightly.

I’d actually keep The Stillness Set as the collection name and make Yuu Haruka (aqua) and Kon-Ai (indigo) the two colour choices. Side by side, they would make a very coherent pair without needing two completely different product concepts.
