Inspired by the gentle movement of a breeze across still water, the Kaze no Utsuwa Japanese Flower Bowl brings together fluid colour, organic form and the quiet beauty of Japanese craftsmanship.
Kaze no Utsuwa can be interpreted as “Vessel of the Breeze,” a name that reflects the bowl’s tranquil, water-like appearance. Layers of turquoise, aqua, celadon green and deeper blue flow across the interior in soft concentric bands, creating the impression of ripples moving across a clear pool.
Made in Japan, each bowl has a softly irregular form that gives it a relaxed, handcrafted character. Subtle variations in the glaze, shape and surface ensure that every piece has its own individual expression.

A Bowl Inspired by Water
The reactive glaze is the defining feature of the collection. Turquoise blue moves into softer celadon and green tones, while deeper bands of blue add depth to the interior.
Rather than appearing perfectly uniform, the glaze has natural movement and variation. This gives each bowl the character of water itself—sometimes clear and pale, sometimes deeper and more intensely coloured.
The gently irregular rim adds another handcrafted element, keeping the overall appearance organic rather than overly polished.

Its shallow proportions make the Kaze no Utsuwa particularly suited to simple arrangements inspired by Japanese interiors.
Fill it with water and float a seasonal flower for an understated display, or use it with moss, stones and other natural decorative elements to create a miniature landscape.
The Small bowl is ideal for a single bloom or compact decorative arrangement. The Medium offers additional space while remaining delicate, while the Large bowl has enough presence to become a centrepiece on a dining table, console or coffee table.
When all three are displayed together, their graduated sizes create a particularly striking arrangement.
Styling the Kaze no Utsuwa
Pair the bowls with natural timber, stone, linen and other Japanese ceramics. Their blue-green palette works especially well in Japandi, wabi-sabi, coastal and minimalist interiors.
For a simple seasonal display, float a single camellia or other garden flower on the water. For a more textural arrangement, combine moss with smooth pebbles or a small piece of sculptural foliage.
They are equally beautiful left empty, allowing the glaze itself to become the focal point.
Individual Character
Variations in colour, glaze flow, pattern, surface texture, dimensions and shape may occur from piece to piece. These differences are part of the character of Japanese ceramics and mean the bowl you receive may not look exactly identical to the example photographed.
Care
Hand washing with a soft sponge and mild detergent is recommended. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could affect the glazed surface.
