Description
Blue Brush Dining Set
A beautifully coordinated Japanese dining set combining expressive ceramics with the quiet simplicity of a black wooden tray.
The bowl and small plate are crafted in Shigaraki ware, with free-flowing strokes of vivid blue and earthy brown sweeping across a warm, natural ceramic base. The pattern has an organic, painterly quality, making each piece feel relaxed and individual rather than overly formal.
The generous bowl is perfectly proportioned for donburi, noodles, rice dishes and soups, while the smaller plate is ideal for pickles, vegetables, condiments or a side dish. A pair of Japanese wooden chopsticks completes the setting.
Everything sits neatly within the oval black serving tray, whose understated finish creates a striking contrast against the expressive ceramics. Together, the pieces make an inviting complete dining setting for one.

About the Ceramics
The bowl and plate belong to the Hechimon tradition of Shigaraki ware.
Hechimon celebrates pieces with their own individual character. Rather than striving for absolute uniformity, variations in form, glaze, colour and surface are embraced as part of the beauty of the pottery.
The sweeping blue and brown decoration gives this particular set a contemporary feel while retaining the warmth and tactile character associated with traditional Japanese ceramics.
