Description

Kasane Japanese Ceramic Mug & Cherry Wood Coaster Set of Two

Layered colour, earthy texture and Japanese craftsmanship give the Kasane Mug Set its distinctive character.

Made in Japan, this pair of ceramic mugs celebrates a bold three-layer colour composition, with broad horizontal bands wrapping around each piece. One combines warm ivory, natural earth tones and charcoal, while the other introduces a rich, deep blue above the same earthy centre and dark base.

Faint horizontal brush marks run through the design, giving the clean bands a subtle handcrafted quality. The result sits beautifully between modern and nostalgic — graphic from a distance, yet full of small textural details when held in the hand.

The ceramic surface is scattered with natural-looking iron particles, adding depth and individuality to the glaze. Each mug is paired with a Japanese cherry wood coaster, bringing another layer of natural warmth to the setting.

Designed for generous everyday drinks, the 320 ml capacity is ideal for coffee, tea and other hot or cold beverages.

Design Details

The three-layer colour scheme gives each mug a bold yet balanced appearance, while the visible brush-like lines introduce the warmth and irregularity associated with artisan-made pottery.

Scattered iron particles can be seen across the ceramic surface, contributing to its earthy, tactile character.

Natural Character

Variations in glaze thickness, colour and surface appearance may occur from piece to piece. Slight unevenness and individual markings are natural characteristics of pottery and part of the craftsmanship that makes each mug unique.

Perfect For

Morning coffee, tea, afternoon drinks, relaxed entertaining or sharing a quiet drink for two.

Presented as a coordinated pair with cherry wood coasters, Kasane also makes a beautiful housewarming, wedding or everyday gift.

Why You’ll Love It

Kasane is all about contrast and layers — cool blue against warm earth, soft ivory against charcoal, and tactile ceramic paired with natural cherry wood.

The two mugs are deliberately coordinated rather than identical, giving the set personality while still looking beautifully considered together.
