Description

Aonami Blue Cup & Saucer Set

Deep, expressive colour inspired by the movement of the sea.

The Aonami Blue Cup & Saucer Set is a characterful Japanese ceramic pairing finished in layers of brilliant ocean blue. Aonami evokes blue waves, a fitting name for a glaze that shifts between turquoise, cobalt and deeper marine tones as light moves across its textured surface.

The generously proportioned 300 ml cup has a softly organic profile and substantial curved handle, giving it a relaxed, handcrafted presence. Subtle variations across the glaze reveal warmer earthy tones beneath the blue, bringing depth and individuality to the finish.

Rather than a traditional round saucer, the cup is paired with an irregular square ceramic plate. Its gently lifted edges and richly pooled blue glaze create a beautiful backdrop for the cup while leaving room for a small sweet, biscuit or chocolate alongside.

Made in Japan, the set celebrates the expressive side of Japanese ceramics—where colour, texture and slight irregularity become part of the beauty of the piece.

Why You’ll Love It

Aonami makes an everyday cup feel considered. The saturated blue glaze gives the set immediate visual impact, while the unconventional square saucer transforms it into a small composition of its own.

Beautiful in use and equally striking left on an open shelf, it brings colour, texture and Japanese craftsmanship to the everyday ritual of a favourite drink.
