Description

Nagare Hand-Painted Cup & Saucer Set

Expressive brushwork meets the quiet warmth of Japanese ceramics.

The Nagare Cup & Saucer Set is a striking Japanese ceramic pairing defined by free-flowing markings of earthy brown and vivid blue across a warm cream ground. Nagare, meaning flow, reflects the spontaneous movement of the decoration as it travels across both cup and saucer.

Rather than precise, uniform patterning, the design has an expressive, almost calligraphic quality. Lines, splashes and pools of colour move freely across the ceramic surface, giving the set the feeling of a small functional artwork.

The generously sized 300 ml cup has a softly rounded profile and substantial curved handle, while the coordinating square saucer continues the painterly design beneath it. The saucer can also hold a small biscuit, chocolate or sweet alongside your drink.

Made in Japan, Nagare brings together everyday function and the beautifully imperfect character associated with Japanese ceramic craft.

Why You’ll Love It

Nagare is made for those who prefer ceramics with personality. Against the understated cream body, the loose brown lines and unexpected flashes of blue feel energetic yet distinctly Japanese.

The matching square saucer turns the cup into a complete composition, making the set as beautiful sitting on an open shelf as it is during a slow morning coffee.
