Description

Tsuchikage Japanese Ceramic Tumbler & Cherry Wood Coaster Set

Earth, fire and wood brought together for the everyday ritual of a drink.

The Tsuchikage Tumbler & Cherry Wood Coaster Set pairs two Japanese pottery tumblers with two natural wood coasters, creating a beautifully balanced contrast between cool, mineral-toned ceramic and the warmth of Japanese cherry wood.

The tumblers are finished in a richly textured glaze that moves through soft stone, bronze, smoke and earthy metallic tones. Their gently waisted silhouette narrows through the centre before opening towards the rim, creating a comfortable form that feels substantial yet elegant in the hand.

Each tumbler sits on a square coaster crafted from Sutechiyama cherry wood, introducing a warm natural element that softens the pottery’s mineral palette. Together, ceramic and timber create a distinctly Japanese composition—simple, tactile and grounded in natural materials.

With a generous 300 ml capacity, the tumblers are versatile enough for beer, tea, water and other favourite drinks, making the set as practical for everyday use as it is beautiful for entertaining.

Natural Material Character

The pottery glaze has a textured, layered appearance that gives the tumblers their distinctive depth and character.

Natural cherry wood also carries its own grain and tonal variation, so each coaster may differ subtly in appearance. These individual characteristics are part of the beauty of natural materials.

Why You’ll Love It

Tsuchikage is about contrast: cool ceramic against warm timber, sculptural form against simple geometry, and earthy texture against the clean lines of the coaster.

It is an understated set, but one with beautiful material presence—designed to make the simple act of pouring a favourite drink feel a little more considered.
